Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers to common questions about working with CodFleet.
How do I get paid?
Freelancers invoice their clients directly via the CodFleet platform. Funds are routed through a licensed Payment Service Provider (PSP) escrow account. CodFleet forwards the net payment to the freelancer after client approval and payment.
When do I receive funds?
Payments are typically processed within 3-5 business days after the client approves the work. The exact timing may vary depending on the payment method and your bank's processing times.
Do I need a Y-tunnus?
Yes, as a freelancer operating in Finland, you need a Y-tunnus (business ID) to legally invoice your clients and operate as a self-employed professional.
What Documents are required?
You'll need to provide a valid identification document, proof of business registration (Y-tunnus), and any industry-specific certifications or licenses required for your field of work.
Does CodFleet pay my taxes?
No, CodFleet does not handle tax payments. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own tax obligations, including income tax, VAT (if applicable), and pension contributions (YEL).
Do I need to register for VAT?
You need to register for VAT if your annual turnover exceeds €15,000. We recommend consulting with a tax advisor to understand your specific VAT obligations.
Am I an employee of CodFleet?
No, you are an independent contractor, not an employee of CodFleet. This means you have flexibility in how you work but are also responsible for your own business operations, taxes, and insurance.
Can I work with other platforms?
Yes, as an independent contractor, you're free to work with multiple platforms or clients simultaneously, unless you've signed an exclusive agreement with a specific client through our platform.
